Kumbabhisheka: Ganapathy Seer prays for bountiful rains

Mysore/Mysuru: Avadhoota Datta Peetham’s Sri Ganapathy Sachchidananda Swamiji prayed for prosperity of the country with timely rain and crop, getting rid of difficulties, anger and jealousy towards others.

Delivering a discourse during the Kumbabhisheka organised as part of 25th anniversary celebrations of Sri Datta Venkateshwara Kshetra and Brahmotsava here recently, Swamiji said “I pray Lord Venkataramana to bless the people and public representatives with peace and redress the grievances of the needy.”

There is an increase in angst among people. One should worship Venkataramana, the God of Kaliyuga and even the poor shall become richer with a bounty of happiness, wealth and peace by worshipping the Lord.

Earlier, pradhana yaga was conducted at Vajrotsava Yaga Mantapa and Ganapathy Sachchidananda Swamiji and Junior Pontiff of Avadhoota Datta Peetham Sri Datta Vijayananda Teertha Swamiji took part in the homa and offered poornahuti.

Both the Seers performed the ritual of Kumbabhisheka to the shikara of the temple on the top, with water brought from various rivers, under the supervision of pundits. It was followed by the ritual of Brahma Kalasha Abhisheka and Puja to the idols.
