Mysuru: With an intention to fight for the cause of pottery idol makers, the Kumbara Gowri-Ganesha Idol Makers’ Welfare Association has come into existence in city.
Announcing this at a press meet here recently, the Association President N. Raghavendra said that the association will make efforts for promotion of clay Gowri-Ganesha idols, a ban on POP idols and to apprise the Government on the problems faced by Pottery Industry, among others.
MLA Vasu will inaugurate the Association at Mahaganapathi Seva premises in Hebbal 1st Stage at 10 am on Mar.4.
MP Pratap Simha will unveil a portrait of Sarvajna on the occasion, he said and added that PWD Chief Engineer R. Srinivas will be present.
Raghavendra further said that the following have been elected as the other office-bearers of the Association. Subbanna – Hon. President, Puttaswamy- Vice-President, K. Rajendra Prasad – Secretary, P. Gopalakrishna – Treasurer, N. Sunil – Convenor and Srinivas, Madesh, Shivakumar Basavaraj, R. Srinivas as Directors.
