Kuvempunagar house loot case: Probe intensified

Mysuru: Kuvempunagar Police have intensified their probe in the case pertaining to conmen posing as MCC Officers and making away with gold and cash from a house in Kuvempunagar N-Block on June 22.

Kuvempunagar Police, who have registered a case in this regard and have intensified their probe into the incident, have collected information from house owner Leeladevi and based on it, they have prepared sketches of the conmen.

Apart from preparing the sketches of the conmen based on the description provided by the victim, we have also collected CCTV footages from neighbouring houses who have installed CCTV cameras and we have intensified the probe, said Inspector Suresh Kumar.

Conmen had approached another house before targeting Leeladevi’s house: The conmen, before coming to Leeladevi’s house, had approached another house on the same lane but were unsuccessful, which has come to light during Police investigation.

The residents of the house had asked the conmen where they were working and asked them to produce their ID cards and the phone numbers of them and their superiors following which the conmen gave reasons and left the spot only to target Leeladevi.

They were successful in their second attempt.
