Mysore/Mysuru: In an early morning shock, the Lokayukta sleuths from Bengaluru assisted by Mysuru Lokayukta Police conducted simultaneous raids on offices and houses of Mysuru District Labour Officer Chethan Kumar, following allegations of amassing wealth disproportionate to the known sources of his income, here this morning.
Lokayukta sleuths arrived at Chethan’s residences in Dattagalli and Sharadadevinagar and his office near Akshaya Bhandar in Kuvempunagar as early as 6 am and conducted the raids. Sources said that the officers were verifying documents. Chethan, who was working in Mandya Division at Bengaluru Office, took charge as the Labour Officer in Mysuru on July 10.
Meanwhile, the Lokayukta sleuths also conducted State-wide raids on 22 officers in 55 different places including Mangaluru City Corporation Commissioner C.L. Anand, who had previously served as the Assistant Commissioner in Mysuru, Additional DC in Chamarajanagar and also as Secretary of Sri Malai Mahadeshwara Swamy Kshetra Development Authority.
