Mysuru golfer placed 17th in LET Order of Merit
Malaga (Spain): Mysuru golfer PranaviUrs recorded her best-ever finish on the Ladies European Tour (LET) with a solo third place after a final round of 69 (-3) at the Andalucia Open-2024 golf tournament, the last of the current season, held at Real Guadalhorce Club de Golf, here yesterday. This was Pranavi’s fifth top-10 finish on LET this season. Her previous best finish was T3 at 2024 Dormy Open Helsingborg in May.
The 21-year-old golfer began with a birdie on the first and then a bogey on the second, but rolled in further birdies on the sixth, seventh, 10th and 12th holes to finish the week on 14-under-par.
Pranavi carded a 14-under 274 (66-69-71-68) to finish four shots off Spain’s Carlota Ciganda, who won the title. Manon De Roey of Belgium carded a 17-under to finish second.
Starting the final day at T4, Pranavi, the best-placed Indian in the LET Order of Merit at 17, finished on a high. She carded five birdies and a single bogey in the second hole to finish on four-under in the final round and moved up a place in the leader board.
Speaking on her achievement, PranaviUrs said, “I couldn’t have asked for a better week! Well, I could if I had won, but I was close yesterday until the 13th hole. I know where I can potentially be and how well I can play under pressure. I think I handled that situation pretty well yesterday, so it was a good week overall.”
Meanwhile, Olympian Aditi Ashok, who won the AndaluciaOpen last year, finished only T16 with a seven-under 281.
