Lady teacher from city assaulted in H.D. Kote School

Mysuru: A 55-year-old lady teacher from the city was severely assaulted  yesterday by an unidentified man at a School in H.D.Kote taluk where she was working.

A.S. Nagamani, a resident of Gangothri Layout, is the assaulted.

Nagamani was working at Pailwan Government School near Gaddige in H.D.Kote taluk for the past four years. The School has only two teachers. As the other teacher had gone for Hunsur by-poll election duty on Thursday, Nagamani was alone in the School, when an unidentified man came in the afternoon and asked her for some documents. 

Even as Nagamani was searching for the same in the records room, the man suddenly struck her on her head and face with a stick and fled from the spot. Due to the assault, Nagamani fell unconscious. The school children who noticed  their teacher, screamed for help. The villagers who then rushed to the school, shifted Nagamani to H.D.Kote Government Hospital. She was later shifted to a private Hospital in Mysuru,where she is now said to be improving.

After her admission to a city hospital, the jurisdictional Saraswathipuram Police registered a  case and later transferred it to H.D. Kote Police Station, based on the location of the spot of crime.
