Mysore/Mysuru: A lady yoga teacher ended her life by hanging self at her home in Gokulam yesterday.
The deceased is Mallika (47). She was leading a lonely life and was reportedly depressed. She ended her life by hanging self with her saree at her home, Police said.
A native of Suratkal in Dakshina Kannada, Mallika, who had obtained divorce, was staying in Mysuru since three years and was teaching yoga. She was said to be depressed as she was staying away from her family and relatives.
Yesterday at about 9.30 am, neighbours saw Mallika placing the garbage bin out of the house. But when her yoga students came at 12 noon and knocked on the door, there was no response from her and the students called the Emergency Response Support System (ERSS) Number 112 and informed about it.
Jurisdictional VV Puram Police, who rushed to the house, went to the rear portion of the house and peeped inside only to find Mallika hanging in the bedroom and informed her sister and brother-in-law, who arrived in city yesterday night.
VV Puram Police, who conducted mahazar, registered a case and shifted the body to MMC&RI mortuary, where post-mortem will be performed today and the body will be handed over to the family members later in the day.
