Mysore/Mysuru: Sri Thyagaraja Sangeetha Sabha Charitable Trust, Mysuru will be presenting a vocal concert by the talented duo, Lathangi Sisters — Vidu. Archana and Vidu. Samanvi at 6 pm on May 17 (Wednesday) at Sangeetha Kalanidhi Mysuru K. Vasudevacharya Bhavan, Nadabrahma Sangeetha Sabha, JLB Road.
Profile: Archana and Samanvi’s skills were identified and they were initiated into classical music by Dr. V. Aravinda Hebbar and Vidu. Vasanthalakshmi Hebbar of Udupi. Since the past eight years, they are honing their skills under the scholarly guidance of maestro, Chitraveena Ravikiran.
The duo have carved a niche for themselves in the field of classical music and have performed in several prestigious platforms such as Parthasarathy Swami Sabha, Naada Inbam, Karthik Fine Arts, BVB, Madhuradhwani, Indian Fine Arts, Krishna Gana Sabha, all in Chennai and also in places like New Delhi, Bengaluru, Mumbai, Hyderabad and Mysuru.
They are the recipients of many scholarships including MSS Fellowship and several prizes in competitions conducted by Shankar TV, TN Arts and Culture Department, The Times Thyagaraja Award, The Hindu MS Subbalakshmi Voice of the Year Award, Pallavi Darbar Award etc.
They will be ably supported by Prithvi Bhaskar on violin and Vid. B.S. Prashanth on mridanga, according to a press release from Sabha Vice-President Vid. H. K. Narasimhamurthy.
