Mysuru: Commemorating her mother’s interest to help the meritorious students, in its 11th year of inception, through Laxmi Ashwath-Memorial Trust, Dr.Veena Bharathi got distributed two Silver Medals and Cash Prizes to two students of Sarada Vilas College (SVC), Mysuru.
Dr. Veena Bharathi, an alumnus of SVC, herself was a first rank holder for the Mysore University in Zoology. Hence, a Silver Medal and a Cash Prize of Rs.3,005 was given to Atri Nandan Hegde, a native of Sagar, who was the topper in 2018 Zoology at SVC. He is now pursuing Biochemistry – M.Sc. at Manasagangothri.
B.Archana, a farmer’s daughter from H.D. Kote, was given the overall Science Achievement Prize, with a Silver Medal and a Cash Prize of Rs.2,005. She is pursuing Physics-M.Sc. at Manasagangothri.
On behalf of Dr. Veena Bharathi (Bengaluru), President of SVC-Institutions B.S. Parthasarathy and other Trustee Members handed over the prizes.
Speaking to SOM, Dr. Veena Bharathi said “Though I could not attend the Pratibha Puraskar this time personally, I am glad that two deserving students got the Medals and Cash Prizes.”
