We, the residents of J.P. Nagar 2nd Stage, 26th Main Road, 13th Cross, Mysuru, are facing significant problems due to the shabby condition of our road. This road was last asphalted in 1998 and has since been neglected, leaving the middle-class senior citizens residing here to suffer.
During rains, the road becomes extremely slippery, making it difficult to move around. Additionally, snakes and other rodents have taken shelter in the vacant sites on either side of the road, posing serious risks to the residents.
Despite multiple complaints to the Mysuru City Corporation (MCC) authorities and elected representatives, the issue remains unresolved. We, the residents, have one question for the MCC: Can an old Layout formed in 1980 remain non-motorable for the last 26 years without asphalting?
Providing good roads is the primary responsibility of the MCC, especially after collecting taxes from the households. Many times, MCC authorities and elected representatives have cited various reasons for the delay, ranging from tendering issues to budget constraints. However, these explanations have done little to alleviate the concerns of the affected residents.
Can we hope that our plight will soon be addressed by relaying the road with proper asphalting or bitumen, bringing an end to our daily struggles?
