Lecture on “Communication skills for effective teaching” held

Mysore/Mysuru: “Communication is a process of interaction of ideas between the communicator and receiver to arrive at a common understanding for mutual benefit,” said Dr. N.N. Prahallada, former Faculty, Regional Institute of Education (RIE), NCERT, Mysuru.

He was delivering a special lecture on “Communication skills for effective teaching,” to the B.Ed students of B.G.S College of Education, at an event held at the college  auditorium recently.

“The learner’s intelligence, age, motivation, attitudes, concentration, interest, and perception of the teacher are important factors in the process of communication in the classroom. Language is the vehicle of thought and therefore language must be used in an appropriate way to communicate effectively. Thus the communication of the teacher is the sine-qua-non of good teaching,” he said.

B.G.S. College Principal Dr. Nagaraj welcomed and Faculty Dr. Sharmisht proposed a vote of thanks at the event.
