Mysore/Mysuru: The ornamental streetlights on Ring Road in Mysuru will be replaced by Centrally controlled and maintained LED lights, said Urban Development Minister Byrati Basavaraj.
Replying to Sandesh Nagaraj (JD-S) during Question hour in the State Legislative Council here on Tuesday, the Minister said MCC has floated tender for this work. The purpose of replacing traditional and caste iron ornamental streetlights was to ensure brightness on Ring Road for the convenience of motorists and to check illegal activities on this stretch of road.
CCTV TVs: Basavaraj said the MCC has been asked to install CCTVs all along the Ring Road to check illegal dumping of garbage and building debris. Penalty will be imposed on offenders. Dumping of garbage on both sides of the Ring Road has marred the city beauty. For safe disposal of Solild Waste Management (SWM), the Mysuru Urban Development Authority has transferred 19.15 acre of land to MCC at Satagalli-B, where unprocessed garbage would be processed, he added.
