Mysuru: A one-day State-level seminar on grievance redressal, legal awareness and cultural programme organised by District Legal Services Authority (DLSA), District Bar Association and Senior Citizen Sakaala Seva Kendra Trust will be held on Mar. 23 at 2 pm at Kalamandira in city.
Principal District and Sessions Court Judge and Chairman of DLSA S.K. Vontigodi will inaugurate. President of the Trust P. Rajappa will preside. Senior Civil Court Judge and Member Secretary DLSA B.P. Devamaane will be the guest of honour.
Zilla Panchayat Chief Executive Officer K. Jyothi, Assistant Director of Women and Child Welfare Department K. Padma, Divisional Controller of KSRTC, Mysuru City M.N. Satishkumar, Assistant Commissioner of Labour A.C. Thammanna, Assistant Director of Kannada and Culture H. Chenappa, Regional Manager of Kaveri Grameena Bank Anand C. Heggade, District Bar Association President Anandkumar and District President of Senior Citizen Sakaala Seva Kendra Trust B. Lalitha Sharma will be the chief guests. Big Boss Reality show fame Suma Rajkumar will compere the programme.
Organisers have also organised various competitions like fancy dress, folk dance, mono-acting on the same day. Interested senior citizens may register their names by Mar. 22 before 5 pm.
Sarthaka Seva Bhushana award
On the occasion, the following outstanding senior citizens will be honoured with State Level Sarthaka Seva Bhushana State award for the year 2019. They are Dr. B.V Rajagopal (medical services), S. Amrutheshwar(law services), Dr. B. Nirmala (health, sports, education and environment), Ramakrishna (military service as a scientist), Dr. Jagannath Singh (social, sports and medical services), Gowri Nageshrao (education and arts), D. Umapathi (light music) and Indiramma (theatre).
People above 60 years can take part. Organisers will also distribute identity cards for those who have already registered through the Trust.
