Legal awareness for industrial fraternity marks Intl. Labour Day

Nanjangud:  Taluk Legal Aid Committee, Bar Association, Department of Labour and Nanjangud Industries Association (NIA) had jointly organised a legal awareness and assistance programme for the benefit of Industrial fraternity at Nanjangud on the occasion of International Labour Day recently.  

Senior Civil Judge and President of Taluk Legal Aid Committee, Nanjangud, B.P. Devamane inaugurated the programme. In his inaugural address, he briefed the working fraternity as to how the Labour Day celebration came into practice all over the world. He also stressed on the responsibility of each individual while taking decision in his/her career / life.

The programme was attended by representatives of various industries in and around Nanjangud.

Srikantaprasad, Sr. Advocate, explained on the labour laws applicability to industries.

B.T. Munilingegowda, Labour Inspector, dwelt on the various Labour legislations applicable to industries and stressed on the Minimum Wages Act, Payment of Wages Act, Workmen’s Compensation Act and Building and Construction Workers Act.

S. Giriraju, President, Bar Association, Nanjangud and S. Rachappa, Additional Government Advocate, spoke on the importance of the Day.  K. Anantha Gowda, Vice-President of Nanjangud Industries Association and General Manager – HR, Jubilant Generics Ltd. , presided and stressed on the need of  Employees Union to sustain according to the affordability of the organisation. B. S. Chandrashekar, General Secretary of Nanjangud Industries Association, compered and proposed a vote of thanks.
