Mysuru: A shepherd, who was tending his flock of sheep was injured when a leopard attacked him all of a sudden at Moodalahundi village in the taluk yesterday evening.
The man who sustained injuries is 62-year-old Maaregowda of the village.
Yesterday evening, Maaregowda was bringing his flock on the canal bund when the leopard, which was coming with its cub, attacked Maaregowda injuring him on his head and ear. The leopard also killed a sheep and carried it away. The shocked shepherd screamed for help and people working in nearby agricultural fields rushed for his help and got him treated.
Meanwhile, villagers have urged the Forest Department to capture the leopard and its cub and relocate them. About two months back a tiger was spotted in the same place where the leopard had attack the shepherd yesterday.
