Mysore/Mysuru: Following the complaints of frequent leopard movement at Ramabainagar in the city, Forest Department personnel, along with Leopard Task Force (LTF), conducted a combing operation in the locality on Thursday night (Nov. 2).
The locals are learnt to have sighted the feline during evening hours. They immediately alerted Forest officials in this regard. Acting swiftly, the personnel and LTF were dispatched to the spot. The combing operation was conducted near the spot where the feline was sighted, stretching up to the surroundings, but to no avail. That apart, two Forest personnel were deployed in the locality, who also couldn’t spot the leopard.
On Friday morning, the Forest men also verified the footages of CCTV cameras installed in front of the houses and shops, but there was no trace of leopard. Following this, combing operation was stopped and a beat was conducted. The locals were told to inform Forest Department if the leopard was sighted again, besides taking utmost precautions while moving out of the house during early morning and evening hours.
