Mysuru: A leopard being sighted inside Mysore Airport premises in Mandakalli here last night has created panic among the members of the public.
The leopard, which was roaming at Srinagar near Mandakalli since about three days, was sighted last night in the Airport premises by one Dhananjay, a resident of Vijayanagar, who has captured the photo of the leopard in his mobile phone.
Dhananjay, who had dropped his mother to the Airport as she was going to Chennai, was returning when he sighted the leopard which leapt in front of a moving car to reach the other side of the road and stayed there for sometime.
He (Dhananjay) said that the leopard would have attacked two-wheeler riders but luckily there were none at that time.
It is learnt that the leopard was found roaming in Srinagar near Mysore Airport in Mandakalli from three-four days.
The Forest Department staff have placed a cage and are conducting combing operation to trap the leopard.
RFO Devaraj said that though they have not received any information about the leopard being sighted in the Airport premises, the Department staff would conduct combing in the area immediately.
