As part of ‘Sparsh Leprosy Awareness Campaign (SLAC) – 2023’ under Central Government’s initiative National Leprosy Eradication Programme (NLEP), an awareness jatha will be taken out from Kote Anjaneyaswamy Temple here at 9.30 am on Jan. 30.
SLAC aims to increase community participation and awareness among people by reaching out to them at their doorstep. In order to get the country rid of leprosy, there is a need to overcome the stigma attached to Leprosy and create awareness among community. The jatha will pass through Albert Victor Road, Hardinge Circle, SP Office and will culminate at the District Health and Family Welfare Department Office, according to a press release from District Leprosy Eradication Officer.
