Sir,
After undertaking a Herculean exercise of mapping the properties by various means including taking 3D pictures of the properties etc., the Mysuru City Corporation (MCC) in February this year went one step ahead and pasted QR code stickers to selected houses in Mysuru. It said that from April onwards, the property tax, water related payments, even power payments can all be made through this code.
However, this QR code never worked. Payment of water bill online remained a dream and this also proved flop. Added to this, property tax payments never happened under this QR code and with many glitches, citizens paid the property tax by various other contemporary means. Now, the question is why is that MCC wasting public money in such non-doable things? Why citizens were not kept informed when such new things are introduced?
Now, the QR code stickers have started fading away and even if MCC can have a relook, things might be away from reach. Hope, in future, MCC will not waste tax-payers money in such things and burden the people and keep taxing people year on year unscientifically.
