Bengaluru: Opposition Leader in Legislative Assembly R. Ashoka has termed the move to rename KRS Road after Chief Minister Siddaramaiah as incorrect.
He was addressing media persons at the party office here yesterday.
Ashoka said, “It is not a good sign to rename the road named after a member of the Mysore royal family. The royal family played a significant role in building the KRS Dam. If there is a necessity to name a road after Siddaramaiah, it would be better to construct a new road and name it either after him or his family members,” said Ashoka in a sarcastic tone.
“The Maharajas have rendered significant services to this land, feeding the hungry with food and water. We should not target the Royal Family with vengeance. Siddaramaiah is the CM for the second term, and resorting to any such degrading act may change the sentiments of the people towards him,” added Ashok.
