Mysore/Mysuru: Mysuru Government Ayurveda College faculty Dr. K.V. Venkatakrishna said that practicing yoga is the best remedy for many ailments and adopting an yogic lifestyle will help a lot in maintaining good physical and mental health.
He was speaking after inaugurating ‘Yoga for women empowerment-2024’ organised by the Department of Swasthavrutta and Yoga, Government Ayurveda College, as a prelude to International Day of Yoga (June 21) at Sougandhika Park in Gokulam here recently.
Pointing out that the programme is meant for well-being of women, Dr. Venkatakrishna said that the ‘Yoga for Women empowerment’ programme aimed to provide physical, mental, emotional, social and spiritual well-being of women through the use of yoga as a tool. This in turn, will ensure that women are healthy and confident and play a leading role in the society, he added.
Akhila Bharatiya Grahaka Panchayat Mysuru Unit Head J. Nagamani said that people should practice yoga at least on a limited scale and have a Sattvick diet for maintaining a good health.
More than 50 people practiced yoga on the occasion.
Chamaraja Constituency BJP leader Chandrakala, Darshan Murthy and others were present.
