Mysore/Mysuru: A Skill Development and Training Centre for tribal youths, funded by the LIC Golden Jubilee Foundation, was inaugurated at an event held at Vanavasi Kalyana Karnataka (VKK) in Chamundipuram on Mar. 14. The facility was dedicated by L.K. Shamsundar, the Zonal Manager of South Central Zone of LIC of India.
Speaking on the occasion, Shamsundar highlighted LIC’s contribution to the project as part of its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative. He emphasised the importance of empowering tribal youths with skills to promote self-reliance and enhance their livelihood opportunities.
V. Bhaskar, Joint Secretary of Vanavasi Kalyana Karnataka, reiterated the organisation’s commitment to the holistic development of tribal communities nationwide. He outlined VVK’s objectives, which include providing basic education, healthcare, sports training, and skill development to tribal populations.
Also present at the event were S. Satyanarayana Sastry, Senior Divisional Manager of LIC Mysore Division, A.G. Thammaiah, the President of VKK, and other dignitaries committed to the welfare and development of tribal communities.
