Mysuru: Former temporary employees of Life Insurance Corporation of India (LIC) who served from 1986 to 1995, have demanded compensation and other benefits that are due to them.
In a press release issued by Mysuru based All India LIC Temporary Employees Association, the Association said ‘they served as temporary employees for nearly 10 years from 1986 to 1995, with relievement orders every three months, which was a move by the LIC Management to deprive them of continuity in service.
Pointing out that though they served like permanent employees in this period, they were deprived of due monetary compensation and other benefits by the LIC Management. The Supreme Court in its order issued in the year 2022, had directed the LIC Management to pay compensation to all such relieved temporary employees by Dec. 2022. But nothing has happened since then and they have waited over 10 months in anticipation of compensation.’ As such, the Association has urged the LIC Management to release suitable compensation at the earliest to all temporary employees who served between 1986 and 1995 and come to their rescue.
