Life Certificate: Pensioners may avail doorstep services by Postal Dept.

Mysore/Mysuru: To enable pensioners to submit Life Certificate, the Department of Posts, Government of India, has made provisions to submit Digital Life Certificate (Jeevan Pramaan) at their doorsteps, said Dr. Angel Raj, Senior Superintendent of Post Offices, Mysuru Division.

In a press release, Dr. Angel Raj has said that in order to avoid problems faced by the pensioners while physical submission of Life Certificate at the Office of pension disbursing agency, Digital Life Certificate facility is being provided to pensioners.

Beneficiaries can submit Digital Life Certificate by providing biometrics along with Aadhaar number, PPO number and their bank account details through the Postman at their doorstep.

The Karnataka State Government Treasury Department has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with India Post Payments Bank (IPPB) coming under Department of Posts, Government of India, for obtaining Digital Life Certificate from pensioners through doorstep services of the Postal Department. Over 5.4 lakh pensioners and family pensioners will be benefited with this service, added Dr. Angel Raj.

Karnataka State Government Pensioners, Family Pensioners and Central Government Pensioners can visit Post Offices or avail Digital Life Certificate facility through the Postman by paying Rs. 70, she added.
