This picture is indeed worth a thousand words…: Inspired by the old saying, ‘A picture is worth a thousand words’ — meaning multiple ideas can be conveyed more effectively by a single still image than a mere verbal description — the South Western Railway (SWR) is sensitising rail-users about the importance of wearing face masks in the right way. The set of six statues — modelled on actual Railway passengers with the theme ‘Life is a journey’ — adorning the portico of the Mysuru City Railway Station to celebrate the spirit of travel, is now provided with face masks. SWR Mysuru Divisional Railway Manager (DRM) Rahul Agarwal has appealed to all rail passengers to compulsorily wear face masks in the right way during their presence in the Railway Station premises and onboard trains, not only to protect themselves but also others from the deadly Coronavirus. The life-like statuary, besides greeting the passengers and reminding them to be cautious, is sending a message across the Nation: ‘Mask up Indian, Be a Saviour, Wear Protective Mask and Maintain Social Distance.’
