Mysore/Mysuru: Dr. B.K. Chandramohan, Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeon of the city, was recently honoured with two Lifetime Achievement Awards during the Karnataka State Conference of Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons of India (AOMSI) held in Mysuru and during the annual All India Conference of AOMSI held at Indore, Madhya Pradesh.
In both the conferences, his contribution to the field of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery was highly appreciated. He was the youngest Founder-Member of All India Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons when it started in 1969 and has organised a number of its National Conferences as well as Karnataka State Dental Association Conference.
He also served as Professor and HoD of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at JSS Dental College and before that as Assistant Professor at MMC&RI.
He was the first dental surgeon with Post-Graduate qualification of MDS to serve the people of Mysuru and has treated up to three generations of people in some families of Mysuru. After 52 years of service to the citizens of Mysuru, though retired from active clinical work he is serving the needy as a volunteer at Palliative Care Centre run by Swami Vivekananda Youth Movement (SVYM).
