Mysore/Mysuru: City’s Sri Krishna Gana Sabha is organising a two-day light music event — Bhavageete and Devotional songs and Sugama Sangeetha — at Alwar Kala Bhavan in Sri Krishna temple premises, Gokulam III Stage here on Feb. 22 and Feb. 23 at 6.30 pm.
Feb. 22: Dr. C.M. Muniramappa and family, in memory of their parents, have organised Bhavageethe and Devotional songs programme by Kalanandana Music Group, Bengaluru, with Vidwan Indu Shekar on tabla.
Feb. 23: Sugama Sangeetha by Dr. Pushpalatha, Co-ordinator, All India Radio (AIR), Mysuru, with her son Vid. B.R. Alap and daughter Swasri as accompanying artistes. The event is organised by Sri Krishna Ganasabha, Mysuru and Gokulam residents.
Corporator SBM Manju and Vijay Foundation Chairman Dr. B.R. Pai will be the chief guests. Ganasabha President B.S. Sridhara Raj Urs will preside.

Dr. Pushpalatha learnt basics in music from her mother Lakshmi Narasamma, who was well-versed in Gamaka and harmonium.
She then learnt Karnatak Classical from Vidwan C.R. Ramachandra, Sugama Sangeetha from Vidwan Raju Ananthaswamy and Ranga Sangeetha from B.V. Karanth and Yoganarasimha Swamy.
She is an A Grade artiste of AIR and since 1984, is working as AIR Mysuru Co-ordinator.
She has given programmes at AIR Stations across the State and also at Delhi, Mumbai and Hyderabad.
B.R. Alap is also a B Grade artiste of AIR, trained in Hindustani and Karnatak Music.
