Periyapatna: Lightning and thunder killed 6 people at Periyapatna this afternoon. The incident occurred at around 1 pm when 12 persons including cowherds and field workers were standing under a tree to take shelter from heavy rains. The villagers hailed from Hunasawadi near Periyapatna. Two persons who are critically injured are being shifted to Mysuru for advanced treatment. [Details tomorrow]
