Sir,
All key connecting roads in and around Vijayanagar have completely deteriorated. Kalidasa Road (from Panchavati to Yoganarasimhaswamy Temple), Kannada Sahitya Parishat Road (from Chandrakala Hospital to VVCE), High Tension Road (from Trinetra Circle to K.D. Circle), Surya Bakery Road (from Water Tank to Surya Bakery), and other connecting roads have either been dug up or potholed for long time now.
All these roads are used by thousands of commuters as these are the only approach roads for many residents and office-goers. These roads are also the main connecting links to the industrial hub of city and such bad roads will hurt the image of the city which is touted as next industrial destination.
Motorists and pedestrians are equally distressed on these roads (or what’s left of it). To add to the woes, water pipe laying works near water tank is progressing at the usual snail’s pace creating Delhi-like dusty environment. The situation is getting from bad to worse and if at all the elected representatives visit these roads (even in their plush vehicles) they would understand the plight of the common road user.
If roads are dug up for laying cables, water lines or any other purpose it also needs to be properly repaired on priority basis. Will this perpetual problem be ever solved? Request authorities, elected representatives to provide basic commutable roads and usable footpaths to pedestrians.
