Mysuru: Lions Club of Mysore Vishwamanava Kuvempu donated a grass-cutting machine to Government School Children for Blind, Tilaknagar, recently.
The Club also announced Rs. 5,000 for the SSLC topper in the school. The initiative is also in line with District Governor Lion Subramanya’s mission on Clean City Abhiyan.
During Independence Day celebration, when Lions Club of Mysore Vishwamanava President Ramesh Kumar (Richie) asked the authorities of Government School Children for Blind, to keep the premises neat and clean and also free from weeds, they had requested for a grass -cutting machine.
After having discussion in the meeting, the members decided to donate a grass-cutting machine.
On Monday evening, Ramesh Kumar, along with the Club Secretary Nagaraja Gowda, Club Treasurer Shivakumar, Zonal Chairperson N.P. Ramesh, Vice-President Sridhar and Senior Advocate & Club Administrator M.R. Anand, handed over a grass-cutting machine to the school in the presence of School Superintendent Satish.
Speaking on the occasion Ramesh Kumar said: “As part of our community service activity, we donated a much needed grass-cutting machine to the school. In days to come, we have planned more such activities for the school.”
Anand also mentioned that the Club is also ready to give a cash prize of Rs. 5,000 to the SSLC topper’s of the school.
