Lions Clubs International District 317G Region 9 Meet in Mysuru on Jan. 25

Rameshkumar, Secretary, Host Committee and Ln. B. Madesh, Treasurer, Host Committee, during the press meet at Pathrakarthara Bhavan in city.

Mysore/Mysuru: Lions Clubs International, District 317G, Region 9, under the leadership of Region Chairperson Ln. B.J. Manu, will host the Region 9 Meet on Jan.25 from 10 am at Mysuru Builders Charitable Trust (MBCT)  auditorium in Vishweshwaranagar.

The conference with the theme, “The Role of Youth in Building a Healthy Society,” will highlight the importance of youth participation in social development and nation-building.

Prof. N.K. Lokanath, Vice-Chancellor, University of Mysore, will be the chief guest.  Ravi Hegde of Kannada Prabha will deliver the keynote address. Ln.  B.J. Manu will preside.

The event will be guided by Past District Governor and Past Multiple Council Chairman Ln. N. Krishnegowda as Advisor, Ln. M. Siddegowda, Ln. K.D. Kariappa and Ln. Jayakumar as Mentor.  District Governor Ln. K. L. Rajashekar will also attend.

The Host Committee comprises Ln. B.N. Sudhakar as Chairman,  Ln. C. Narayana Gowda, Ln. M.R. Anand and Ln. K.A. Siddalingappa as Co-Chairmans,  Ln. R. Ramesh Kumar as Secretary and Ln. B. Madesh as Treasurer.

As part of the Region 9 Meet service activities, laptops, sewing machines and sports uniforms will be distributed to Government School.

Apart from this, installation of water filters and other welfare initiatives aimed at benefiting the underprivileged will also be taken up by the Lions.

A free blood check-up camp and a blood donation camp have been arranged at the venue.

Lions Club delegates from Mysuru and neighbouring regions are expected to attend in large numbers.
