Mysuru: Sri Sahitya Samrajya Nataka Mandali will be organising ‘Lokesh Nenapu’ programme in commemoration of Veteran actor Lokesh, at Natana Rangashale (Natana School of Theatre Arts), Ramakrishnanagar in the city on May 19 at 5pm.
Announcing this at a press meet at Pathrakatara Bhavan here this morning, veteran actress Girija Lokesh said that marking the programme, senior theatre Director Chindodi Bangaresh will be conferred Subbaiah Naidu award, TV Actress and Danseuse Shylakshi Sudarshan will be conferred Lakshmi Bai award and veteran actor Ramesh Bhat will be conferred Lokesh award.
Pointing out that this was the 16th programme in memory of the late actor Lokesh, Girija Lokesh said that the event has been organised in Mysuru marking the 73rd birth anniversary of Lokesh.
Former Karnataka Nataka Academy Chairman Srinivas G. Kappanna will preside in which Suruchi Rangamane’s village ‘Sindhuvalli and Natana Rangashale’s Mandya Ramesh will be the guest honours. Senior theatre personality Rajashekar Kadamba and actor Shankar Ashwath will be felicitated on the occasion, she said and added that ‘Mruchhakatika’, a play directed by Mandya Ramesh will be performed by Natana artistes.
