‘Long serving officials responsible for corruption in Education Department’

Vedike demands holding of Shikshana Adalat

Mysuru: Alleging that officials who served for long at one place were responsible for rampant corruption in the Education Department, the Karnataka Samajika Nyaya Rakshana Vedike has demanded immediate holding of   Shikshana Adalat. Addressing a press meet here recently, Vedike State Convenor H. Lakkegowda alleged that Education Department officials were in favour of private educational institutions.

Maintaining that many Government Schools were on the verge of closure, he alleged that the officials have completely ignored the rule that Shikshana Adalat must be held once in three months to hear the grievances of teachers.

Pointing out that the Adalat was meant for correcting the lapses in the Department, Lakkegowda said that the officials had failed to hold the Adalat for six years.

Demanding immediate transfer of corrupt staff, he wanted the Government to take immediate measures for revamping the Education Department.

Advocate B. Radha, activists Dyavappa Nayaka, B.H. Govindegowda, J. Mayigowda and others were present during the press meet.
