Lorry owners seek fulfilment of demands

Mysuru: About 100 members of Mysuru District Lorry Owners’ Union staged a protest in front of DC’s office here this morning urging the government to fulfil their long-pending demands.

The lorry owners are demanding withdrawal of the government’s order to scrap vehicles older than 15 years, reduction of enhanced insurance premium, issuance of sand permits in the State, removal of anomalies in tolls on National High-ways and availability of speed governors at reasonable prices in the market. They later submitted a memorandum to the DC.

Union President B. Kodandaramu, Vice-President S.M. Padmaprasad, Secretary Balasubramanya and others took part in the protest.
