Mysore/Mysuru: As movement of goods vehicles were banned following lockdown, lorry owners have urged District Minister S.T. Somashekar to waive six months taxes and insurance amount.
The office-bearers of Mysuru District Lorry Owners Federation led by Federation President B. Kodandaramu, who met the District Minister during a press meet at Patrakarthara Bhavan here recently, apprised the Minister that they were in financial debts due to lockdown and submitted a memorandum to the Minister seeking tax and insurance waiver for six months.
Kodandaramu said that following a request from Federation State President Shanmugappa, the Chief Minister had waived off insurance and taxes for two months for which he thanked the CM and urged him (CM) to waive off taxes and insurance for four more months.
District Minister Somashekar, who received the memorandum, said that he would go through the memorandum and assured them that a decision in this regard would be taken by the Government.
