Lost handbag returned to railway passenger

Mysore/Mysuru: In an act of alertness, the Railway staff recovered and returned a lost handbag of a passenger. The incident occurred when 67-year-old Kaveri B. Pai travelling to Bengaluru from Srirangapatna by Train No. 16228 in Coach B-2 inadvertently left behind her handbag while alighting at Kranthiveera Sangolli Rayanna Railway Station in Bengaluru.

The handbag, containing cash and jewellery, was noticed and secured by Kalabai, the Travelling Ticket Examiner on duty in the same train running from Shivamogga to Mysuru. Demonstrating utmost honesty and responsibility, she ensured the safety of the belongings and handed them over to the Chief Ticket Inspector, Mysuru.

Subsequently, the handbag was returned to the rightful owner Kaveri B. Pai at Mysuru in the presence of R. Chandrashekar and V. Nandakumar, Chief Ticket Inspector, Mysuru.

Kaveri expressed her happiness and gratitude upon receiving her belongings intact and thanked the railway officials for their prompt action in ensuring the safe return of her lost handbag.
