Mysuru: A fight over a petty issue ended in lovers committing suicide in city.
The deceased lovers are Monica (20), daughter of Nagaraju and Manjula couple of Mandakalli and Manu (22), son of Murugesh of MCC Colony in Jyothinagar in city.
Monica’s mother Manjula is the sister of Manu’s father Murugesh and hence Monica and Manu knew each other since childhood. A few years ago they fell in love and both their families knew about it but did not object as both were relatives. Both the families had given their consent for the marriage. Monica was working as a house help at Dattagalli and Manu was working as a temporary cleaning staff at MCC. On Wednesday night, Monica and Manu had reportedly fought over a petty issue and she ended her life by hanging self at the house where she was working.
As Monica did not come out of the room on Thursday morning, the house owner knocked on the door and as there was no response, the house owner informed about it to Monica’s parents. After opening the room, they found Monica hanging and immediately rushed her to a hospital where the doctors declared her brought dead.
Meanwhile, Manu, who had come to the hospital, heard the doctors announcing her death and went into sudden depression. He later returned home and ended his life by hanging self in his room, Police said.
While Kuvempunagar Police have registered a case pertaining to the death of Monica, Nazarbad Police have registered a case pertaining to the death of Manu.
