LS polls: Scrutiny of nomination papers begins at DC’s Office

Mysuru:  Scrutiny of 50 nomination papers filed by 30 candidates for Mysuru-Kodagu Parliamentary Seat began this morning at the Office of the Returning  Officer set up at DC Office Court Hall.

The scrutiny of papers was conducted by District Election Officials in the presence of contestants and polling agents.

Returning Officer and Deputy Commissioner Abhiram. G. Sankar, General Observer of Mysuru- Kodagu LS Constituency, Kuldip Narayan, District Nodal Officer for Model of Code of Conduct Sheikh Tanvir Asif, Additional Deputy Commissioner G. Anuradha, DC Office Election Branch Shirastedar Ramprasad and others conducted the scrutiny process.

Congress candidate C.H. Vijayashankar, Election agents like former MLC G. Madhusudhan, R.G. Narsimha Iyengar and a few Independent candidates were present during the process.

Scrutiny will held till 3 pm today and officials will declare the details of valid and invalid papers only after this.

The last date for withdrawal of nominations papers is Mar. 29. People will get a clear of picture of contesting candidates only after the completion of withdrawal of nomination papers.
