Mysuru: Mysuru Lokayukta office received a lukewarm response with only five people registering complaints during the public grievance meet held at the Lokayukta Office in city on Monday.
Karnataka Lokayukta had organised meeting for people to register their complaints with regard to delay in work at Government offices, demand of bribe and other problems caused by the government officials in Mysuru district.
The Lokayukta office was open for public from 11 am but no complaints were registered till 12 noon. Later, a total of five complaints with regard to land disputes were filed by the public.
Complaints were filed by Yalandur resident M. Shivanna, Ashokapuram resident Marisusai, Rajivnagar resident Sumaiya Batul, Kesare resident Siddaiah and B.M.Sri Nagar resident Gururaj.
The complainants said that despite several requests and applications, the concerned departments had not resolved their issues and there was an unnecessary delay. They added that with no other options they had approached Lokayukta for justice.
The response to the Lokayukta Grievance Meeting has seen a slump since ACB is more active. Earlier, Lokayukta used to receive huge response, but now people seem to be disinterested in approaching the anti-corruption watchdog. The Lokayukta will continue to receive complaints at all taluks in the district till Aug. 27.
