Senior alumni and achievers to be felicitated during the celebrations
Mysore/Mysuru: Mysore Medical College Alumni Association (MAA), Mysuru, will be holding one-day Annual MAA Utsav-2022 at the Platinum Jubilee Hall in J.K. Grounds here on Apr. 9.
Announcing this at a press meet at Pathrakartara Bhavan here this morning, MAA President Dr. B.N. Anandaravi said, “MAA Utsav is happening after a year gap. The annual Utsav could not be held last year due to the rise in COVID cases in the district. All the alumni of the Association were busy treating patients. This year, though it is a one-day programme, MAA Utsav will have various interesting events. Also, various health-related issues will be discussed.”
“Scientific programme followed by MAA Oration, Presidential Oration, seminars, discussions, Annual General Body Meeting (AGM) and Association Office-bearer’s election for 2022-2024 will be held in the morning. The Scientific Programme will be inaugurated by former Medical Education Director Dr. R. Seethalakshmi at 10 am on Apr. 9. Scientific Committee Chairman Dr. G. Marulasiddappa, MAA Secretary Dr. P. Malegowda, Treasurer Dr. H.B. Shashidhar will be present,” he said.
Stating that the first Vice-Chancellor (VC) of Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences (RGUHS)-Bengaluru Dr. Kantha S. Jadhav will inaugurate the Dining Hall at the venue at 5.15 pm, Anandaravi said: “The stage programme and cultural programme will be inaugurated by RGUHS VC Dr. M.K. Ramesh at 5.30 pm. MLC Dr. D. Thimmaiah will be the chief guest. MAA Trust Chairman Dr. S. Chandrashekar Shetty, MAA Trust Secretary and Adichunchanagiri University (ACU)-Bellur VC Dr. M.A. Shekar, MMC&RI Dean and Director Dr. H.N. Dinesh will be the guests of honour.”
Pointing out that MMC&RI alumni are working throughout the country, he said that ten senior alumni and achievers will be felicitated at the MAA Utsav which also features various cultural events.
MAA Secretary Dr. P. Malegowda, who too spoke, said: “The centenary celebration of MMC&RI is just two years from now. With the grants released by the Government for the celebrations, all the developmental works have been taken up at K.R. Hospital, MMC, Nursing College and Hostels apart from providing required medical equipment.”
