He had boarded reserved coach in Maddur
Mandya: A man was allegedly thrashed by Scouts and Guides Cadets from Madhya Pradesh for boarding the reserved Hampi Express coach in Maddur yesterday morning.
The man, who was assaulted, has been identified as Shankar, a resident of Maddur, who is working in K.R. Pet.
Shankar, who came to Maddur Railway Station, boarded the reserved coach of Hampi Express in which the Scouts and Guides Cadets were travelling. The Cadets, who questioned Shankar, did not allow him to sit and picked up a quarrel. As wordy duel ensued between Shankar and the Cadets, six Cadets began to thrash him inside the train till it arrived at Mandya Railway Station.
As other passengers had informed the Railway Police about the incident, the Railway Police took Shankar and the Cadets into their custody when the train reached Mandya. Many passengers, who got down at Mandya, protested against the behaviour of the Cadets, after seeing injuries on Shankar, who lodged a complaint with the Railway Police.
The Railway Police, who managed to pacify the passengers, assured them of taking stringent action against the Cadets if they were found guilty.
