Mahajana FGC enters semi-finals

The girls Table Tennis players of SBRR Mahajana FGC scored a 3-1 win over SDM and entered the semi-finals in Mysore University Inter-Collegiate Women’s Inter-Zonal Games which began at Government First Grade College, Kythanahalli, Pandavapura yesterday.

Prof. R. Rajanna, Registrar, University of Mysore, was inaugurated the event by releasing the balloon in the presence of K.S. Puttannaiah, MLA, Melkote Constituency, Dr. P. Krishnaiah, Director (in-Charge), Department of Physical Education, University of Mysore, Dr. C. Krishna, former Director, Department of Physical Education, University of Mysore.

Prof. Puttabuddi, Principal (in-Charge), Government First Grade College, Kaythanahalli, Pandavapura, welcomed the gathering. The vote of thanks was rendered by K. Jayashree, Physical Education Director, Government First Grade College, Kaythanahalli, Pandavapura.

Around 600 students from different colleges took part in various games like Softball, Basketball, Table Tennis, Volleyball, Ball-Badminton, Throwball, Tennikoit, Tennis, Shuttle-Badminton Handball and Kho-Kho on the first day.

Volleyball: JSS Women’s College, Mysuru  bt GFGC, Gundlupet 25-14, 25-09; Teresian  College, Mysuru bt YDD FGC Belur 25-10, 25-12; Govt. Science College, Hassan bt GFGC, Mandya 16-25, 25-23, 26-24.

Chess: Govt. Women’s College, Hassan bt Teresian College 8-4; Yuvaraj’s College, Mysuru bt Maharani’s College 6-3.
