Mysuru: Adichunchanagiri Mysuru Shakha Mutt Seer Sri Somanathananda Swamiji inaugurated the newly-built Mahalakshmi Temple adjacent to Sri Vidyaganapathy Temple on 6th Main Road in Vinayakanagar (Paduvarahalli) here on Friday.
Speaking on the occasion, the Seer said that a temple is as important to a locality, just as the heart to a human being.
Explaining the importance of carrying on the Bhakti Bhava legacy left by our elders, the Swamiji stressed on the need for proper maintenance of temples.
MP Pratap Simha, Vokkaligara Sangha Director Dr. K. Mahadev, Sri Vidyaganapathy Temple and Sri Mahalakshmi Temple Trust President Ramachandra and others were present.
Earlier in the morning, Ganapathi Homa, Sathyanarayana puja, Lakshmi puja, Abhisheka and other rituals were performed to mark the inauguration.
An idol of Goddess Mahalakshmi has been installed inside the huge gopura atop the temple, which was constructed at a cost of Rs.30 lakh.
