Seeks assistance for hosting International Expo-2018 at Shravanabelagola

Mysuru: A delegation of the Mahamastakabhisheka Mahotsava Exhibition Committee met Union Minister Nirmala Sitharaman in city yesterday, under the leadership of MP Pratap Simha, to seek assistance for hosting an Intl. Exhibition during the Mahamastakabhisheka at Shravanabelagola in Feb. 2018.

The delegation led by Committee President Suresh Kumar Jain comprised Vinod Bakliwal, President, Food Committee; M.R. Sunil Kumar, President, Jain Samaj; Prakash Babu, Past President, Jain Samaj and Lakshmi Prasad. The memorandum said the mega event will be witnessed by nearly 30 lakh pilgrims, tourists, trade and industry members among others.

The Committee plans to hold an International Religious, Industrial, Agricultural, Horticultural, Archaeological and Heritage Exhibition including marketing  of domestic manufacturing products through Karnataka Exhibition Authority from Feb. 15 to  Feb. 28, 2018 at Shravanabelagola in Hassan District, it said.

The memorandum stated special focus would be given to Government of India initiatives like Digital India, Make in India, Skill India, Clean India etc.  

The Expo also includes Yoga Training and Demo, Krishi Mela, Ahara Mela, Investors Meet, MSME Convention, Farmers Convention, Udyog Mela, Short- term Skill Development Training, EDP & MDP Programmes along with seminars and workshops.

The Minister assured the delegation all support from her Ministry after holding discussions with the officers concerned.
