MAHAN holds Annual Meet

MAHAN — the Mysore Association of Hospitals, Nursing Homes, Diagnostic Centres and Clinics — which is a little over a year old, held its Annual General Body Meeting (AGM) yesterday evening at a hotel  in city.

The meeting was addressed by Dr. Mahesh Kumar, the President and Dr. B.N. Rajeeva, the Secretary, who highlighted the aims and objectives and the achievements of MAHAN and also appealed to all members to remain united in their endeavours to strengthen the organisation which seeks to confront the problems faced by the private medical establishments.

Issues pertaining to the private health care establishments like Bio Medical waste management, waiver of Trade licence fee, activities under Corporate Social Responsibility and difficulties faced under the PNDT Act and registration under the KPME Act were discussed.

The problem of long delayed payments for treatment given under various Government-sponsored schemes which is plaguing the health care sector in the State took precedence in the deliberations at the meeting.

Representatives of PHANA, the State body of private medical establishments were  also present.

The meeting was followed by a Magic Show and music programme for the doctors’ families.
