Mysore/Mysuru: A house maid has been accused of stealing gold bangles from the house she works in city.
Forty-year-old Usha, a resident of Hosabandikeri, is the accused and it is learnt that she has pledged the stolen bangles at a pawn shop in K.G. Koppal.
Details: Geetha, wife of Software Engineer R. Chethan Raj, a resident of Judicial Layout in Kergalli, had given birth to twins about a year and a half back and Chethan had appointed Usha through an agent in March to take care of the mother and children.
On Apr. 20, Usha allegedly stole Geetha’s 26 grams gold bangles and had replaced them with fake ones. According to the complaint, Usha had confessed of stealing the gold bangles and had pledged the same at a pawn broker shop in K.G. Koppal. Usha had also stated that she would get the bangles released and give it back to Geetha.
But Usha, who worked in Geetha’s house till June, did not get the gold bangles released and began to speak in a negligent way, when asked for the bangles, the complaint further stated.
Jayapura Police, who have registered a case, are investigating.
