Make offline ticket facility at Somnathpur Temple: MTA

Mysore/Mysuru: The Mysuru Travels Association (MTA) has urged the State Government to introduce an offline ticketing system to the Somnathpur Keshava Temple and the Srirangapatna Fort as not many tourists are aware of booking online tickets.

Speaking to Star of Mysore this morning, Association President C.A. Jayakumar said that both the tourist sites have historical importance and archaeological value and as such, they are on the itinerary of many tourists.

“The present sole online system is a disadvantage to many tourists who will not have knowledge about online ticket booking. Also, many will not have the patience to fill in the online form and then book tickets. Moreover, there are network issues too,” he said.

If the Government sets up an offline ticket counter both at Somnathpur Keshava Temple and the Srirangapatna Fort, it will help hundreds of tourists. “If a tourist plans the itinerary, then they will book online. But unplanned visitors to Somnathpur like from Mysuru need the facility of offline tickets. Otherwise we will lose out on them,” he said.
