Male Mahadeshwara Temple earns over Rs. 73 lakh in ‘Hundi’ collection

Chamarajanagar: The hundis (offering boxes) of Male Mahadeshwara Swamy Temple atop Male Mahadeshwara Hill were opened yesterday morning for counting.

The hundis were opened at 7 am yesterday in the presence of Sri Male Mahadeshwara Swamy Area Development Authority Secretary and Additional DC K.M. Gayathri and Seer of Sri Salur Bruhanmutt Sri Pattada Guruswamy.

The segregation and counting was taken up by Additional Deputy Secretary M. Basavaraju, Assistant Engineer R.S. Manuvacharya, Accounts Superintendent Mahadevaswamy, Office Superintendent B. Madaraju, Health Inspector Srikanth Vibhuti, staff of the temple, Chamarajanagar DC Office FDA Mohan Kumar and personnel of Mahadeshwara Hill Police Station with assistance from State Bank of Mysore (SBM) Manager Senthilnathan and staff.

A total of Rs. 73,70,044 cash, 22 grams gold and 1.010 kg silver was collected.
