Malfunctioning Traffic Signal Lights opposite V.V. Puram Police Station

Sir,

This is a request to urgently address a persistent issue regarding the traffic signal lights opposite V.V Puram Police Station. For more than three months now, these lights have been operating intermittently, functioning for about a week before remaining non-functional for approximately ten days thereafter.

This inconsistency has posed significant challenges for both motorists and pedestrians alike. Even during the brief periods when the signal lights are operational, this junction is notorious for traffic signal jumpers — especially by two-wheelers — and instances of drivers violating lane discipline by facing incoming traffic after  the central median.

Now, with the signals functioning intermittently, these habitual violators of traffic rules are taking advantage and causing disorder with impunity.

I appeal to the authorities concerned to prioritise the repair of these traffic signal lights without delay.

It is imperative to alleviate the hardships faced by the public and reinstate safe and regulated traffic management at this critical busy junction.
