Bengaluru: The Congress on Thursday night expelled party Legislator from Afzalpur, Malikayya Guttedar for six years on charges of anti-party activities.
Malikayya Guttedar, a six-time MLA from Afzalpur in Kalaburagi district had met State BJP President B.S. Yeddyurappa at the latter’s Dollars Colony residence in Bengaluru on Thursday morning. After the meeting, Malikayya publicly announced that he would quit the Congress and join the party. Following Guttedar’s remark, the KPCC in a swift move, expelled him from the party for six years.
